SAND has always had the honor of working with such incredibly inspired writers. With that said, and though it was a challenge to choose just a few, we’d like to congratulate our Pushcart Prize nominees.

J.M. Parker “The Day Trip”
Esther Yi “Brussels, Beckett, Partnership”

Patrick Kindig “Boy”
Ron Riekki “Sonnet 13: Blood, the Blood, Not Blood, Then the Gates”

All entries can be read in Issues 13 and 14 of SAND.

About the Pushcart Prize:
Since 1976, the Pushcart Prize has honored (and collected) wonderful new work written in (or translated to) English. Editors from around the world are invited to nominate six of their strongest pieces published in the current year, whether poetry, short stories, essays, memoirs, or stand-alone excerpts from novels, to be featured in its yearly collection.
