SAND is an international literary journal based in Berlin that publishes two print issues per year. Our contributors come from all over the world and include established and emerging writers, poets, artists, and translators. We look for work that is fresh, well-written, accessible, and diverse, as we take pride in producing a beautiful journal that can be enjoyed by a wide audience.
We’re particularly interested in writing from perspectives that are generally underserved in literature, including work by women, people of color, people from the LGBTQ community, and people from the wider international writing community.
You can read an interview about what we look for in submissions here at Six Questions For... or read this guest post that our Assistant Fiction Editor Ashley Moore wrote for Aerogramme Writer's Studio on 'Standing Out From the Crowd'.
We’re always excited about new submissions, so don't be shy; send us your best work.
Submissions are currently open until 6 July 2018.
